Coaching  - prioritising your thinking time

I have been coaching and mentoring 1:1 and within groups for over 25 years helping clients to maximise their personal passion, mission, professionalism and vocation. I work as a collaborative trouble-shooter - I use incisive questioning to tease out the issues and barriers, and work collaboratively on strategy and new ways of thinking, being and doing. We deal with complex organisational choices and dynamics.

Who comes to see me?

  • senior leaders and CEO's with significant strategic organisational challenges

  • emerging leaders/managers who might want to take the next career step or who have a new role

  • people wanting to review and think about the big questions in their lives

  • people seeking more personal authenticity in their working life - for example wanting to move into the arts/charity/third sectors

  • successful voluntary and statutory CEO/leaders who often feel isolated and unsupported, who want to change career or develop a new work venture

  • executives wanting to start their own freelance business

  • busy people who need a supportive, focused and dynamic space to think about specific professional challenges

  • leaders facing a range of business and strategic challenges – breakthrough projects; meaning and purpose, turnarounds; cultural change and transformation

  • people who want to discover a new work/vocational direction

I work with clients to provide thinking space and time and the discipline of treating that time as priority because of the leadership challenges that leaders face.  I work in a holistic way – believing that we bring in a whole range of issues and selves to the workplace and that by tapping into all of this we can gain greater insights and information to use to move forward and understand 'what's going on'.

What kinds of challenges do people bring to sessions?

people bring the full range of issues to their sessions including;

  • organisational/personal strategy and planning

  • new project development - getting ideas on paper and into operation

  • resource/financial management and fundraising

  • SMT and Governance development programmes

  • partnership, merger and acquisition

  • work-life balance

  • organisational development

  • change management

  • difficult people dynamics

I bring a very supportive, challenging and positive energy to the work and am committed to helping you to do the very best you can.  I am a trusted adviser who brings an open, decisive and strategic style to my coaching and consulting practice.

Our coaching work will generally be a time limited series of meetings and we will set goals and strategies as well as regularly review progress.  Our rapport is vital to the work so we will use the first meeting to decide if I am the right person for you and what the plan going forward will be. I am in regular supervision.

I also work with teams and groups, offering non-managerial supervision or strategic support through specific situations and challenges.

Please see my client list for examples of people, organisations and project based work.
