A 10 min reflective note to self

What’s calling your attention in 2026?

What’s calling your attention in 2026?

A 10 min reflective note to self

A simple process to help you notice where change might be calling you in 2026…and this is not about fixing, sorting or managing.

How to use this reflective exercise

I’ve not created this so you can set goals or make big decisions – for now this is a 10 min process about noticing….what feels interesting, energising, heavy, good or where something no longer works for you.

Take 10 mins - Answer what you can. Do this quickly and skip over what doesn’t connect. Come back to it more than once if you need.

Part 1: A reframe — change isn’t a problem to solve

If you’re feeling restless, dissatisfied, or uncertain these feelings are signals and signs that something in your life wants attention, care, or adjustment.

Change doesn’t always mean a dramatic overhaul. Sometimes it means:

  • wanting more ease and less grind

  • wanting more alignment

  • wanting to stop repeating the same pattern

Before you look at what might need attention, I’m suggesting you slow down and do a 2 min check in with yourself…

Coaching prompt:

  • When I think about 2026, what feeling do I most want more of?

  • When I think about continuing exactly as I am, what feeling shows up first?

Part 2: My life wheel

Below are common areas of life you might want to change or develop. You don’t need to want change in all of them.

Simply notice:

  • Where things feel good or ok

  • Where things feel draining or you’re dissatisfied

  • Where things feel unclear or unfinished

You might rate each area from 1–10 (1 = not working for me, 10 = feels good and sustainable) or simply jot down words.

1. Work & career

Consider:

  • Does my current work energise or exhaust me?

  • Does it fit who I am now — not who I was 5/10 years ago?

  • Does it support my mental and physical health?

  • Do I feel valued, stretched, bored, or burned out?

Prompt: What feels off, or no longer fits about my work right now?

2. Money & financial wellbeing

Consider:

  • Do I feel safe, stressed, avoidant, or empowered around my money?

  • Does my income match my energy and effort?

  • Do I want more stability, freedom, or flexibility?

Prompt: What do I want my relationship with money to feel/be like in 2026?

3. Time, energy & capacity

Consider:

  • Where does my energy go each week?

  • What consistently drains me?

  • What restores me?

  • Do I have space to think, rest, or be creative?

Prompt: If my energy could speak, what would it be asking for?

4. Health & wellbeing

This includes physical, emotional, and nervous-system health.

Consider:

  • Am I pushing through tiredness?

  • Do I listen to my body’s signals?

  • Is stress a constant background noise?

Prompt: What does my body need more of in this next chapter?

5. Identity & sense of self

Consider:

  • Do I recognise myself in my life?

  • Have I outgrown any old roles/patterns or versions of me?

  • Am I allowed to change?

Prompt: What parts of me feel ready to be expressed more fully this year?

6. Purpose, meaning & fulfilment

Consider:

  • Does my life feel meaningful to me?

  • Do I feel connected to something bigger than productivity?

  • Do I feel proud of how I spend my time?

Prompt: Where do I desire more meaning or contribution?

7. Creativity & self-expression

Creativity is how you think, solve, imagine, and express yourself.

Consider:

  • Do I have space to create or explore?

  • Am I curious or stagnant?

Prompt: What might I want to create or express more of this year?

8. Relationships & support

Consider:

  • Do I feel supported, seen, and understood?

  • Am I always the one holding things together?

  • Do I have space to be honest?

Prompt: What kind of support do I need more of?

Part 3: Patterns, not problems

This year try asking:

  • What keeps getting repeated?

  • Where do I feel stuck in the same loop?

  • What am I putting off?

Prompt: What pattern do I most want to dissolve this year?

Part 4: A gentle look ahead

This is not a plan — just some possibilities…Complete the sentences:

  • In 2026, I want more __________

  • In 2026, I want less __________

  • One area of my life that feels ready for change is __________
